Baby 101 – Become Educated

The following subpages within Baby 101 provides education to those who are thinking of becoming pregnant, those who are, birthing mothers and partners, to new families who may have questions about baby’s development or mother’s needs.

Baby Prep offers guidance and information from conception through postpartum.

The Birth Options document offers all of the options available to mothers and partners that support the most of the birth experience. This includes options that support natural birth, pain medication, and the “gentle” cesarean birth. Use this as a guide to prepare your Birth Plan or Birth Preferences.

The Birth Plan or Birth Preferences is your final list, typically one page, to submit to your care provider regarding your wishes for your birth. We provide you with a how-to as well as samples and a template of the form itself.

See the Birthing Positions for positions during pregnancy and birth to keep mother relaxed, reduce discomfort, and keep partner as a participant in the experience. We have photos that include doulas as well to show variations.

Read the Articles and Studies for additional information on birth standards and options. These may be offered to your care provider to encourage their support of your wishes.
