Birthing Positions
Positions may be used for relaxation during pregnancy and for comfort during birth. In the following photographs, we have examples of both. Practicing positions during your pregnancy, either alone or with your partner, will give you the confidence of knowing your options during the birth experience. You may choose to practice position for relaxation in dim light or with music that will allow you to decompress completely.

These positions may be used at home or hospital, and we have included some support tools such as birth balls, peanuts and a birth stool, along with hydrotherapy options such as the shower and tub.
We have included photographs with a doula as well to give parents an idea of how a doula or other labor support can assist during birth.
For those taking a childbirth education course, you will be practicing some of these positions in class. If you are using a doula, you may be able to review positions with her prior to birth.
If you are looking for an additional tools, couples may want to look into Labor Massage classes that will also help to provide relaxation and comfort during birth.
